4. Strategic Aims & Objectives - Football and Club Facilities

Football

    Junior Level

  • Retain Premier League status and push for honours.
  • Provide outlet for members who progress beyond Minor age limit, having progressed through schoolboy ranks.
  • Schoolboy Level

  • Be represented at Premier Division level at all age groups.
  • Provide an outlet for members who do not reach Premier standard.

Small-sided Game

  • Starting at U-5 age group, provide an opportunity for the young members of the Cummunity, boys and girls, to become more familiar with the skills required to participate in soccer.
  • Organise appropriate coaching courses for all Managers / Coaches.

Ladies

  • Enter competitive grade from U-10 through to Junior level.

Football Administration

  • Form strong links with organising bodies including LDMC, LDSL, Munster Council and the FAI.
  • Foster good relations with other local sporting organisations and play a positive, proactive role in the Community.

Coaching

  • Operate and promote a culture of high quality Coaching at all levels throughout the Club.

Club Facilities

Pitches

  • The Club has the use of 3 pitches at present ad needs the use of 3 more. The Club will need 6 pitches to participate all teams in the various league and cup competitions and to allow training to continue on an ongoing basis.

All-Weather Training

  • Provide a top class, synthetic surface, fully floodlit training facility.

Dressing Rooms/Showers

  • Adequate facilities to be constructed, possibly a further 4 dressing rooms to add to the existing 2.

Meeting Room

  • Suitable meeting accommodation to be provided the Club premises at all times.

Premises

  • Existing pre-fabricated structure to be replaces by a permanent structure.

Bar License

  • It is unlikely that a bar facility will be economically viable at the premises. The existing bar is not operated at present and no such facility will be catered for in the redeveloped premises.

Assembly Hall

  • The existing hall is used for a 45-drive every Monday night but other than this event the main use is for sports star award ceremonies, which total approximately 4 to 6 occasions annually. The 45-drive generates €3350 for the Club last year. There will be no Assembly Hall catered for in the redeveloped premises. The Hall of the local school or GAA Club may be used as alternate locations for assembly.

Sponsorship/Relations with Business Community

  • The Club will endearvour to seek key sponsors at Junior, Schoolboy, Small-sided game and Ladies levels. The relationship with key sponsors should be sought on the basis of a 3-year arrangement, the details of which should be mutually beneficial.
